God Is Awesome
Talk about stating the obvious, huh? Still, it deserves to be said, especially after today. Many thanks to all of you who have been praying about my uncle's situation with my aunt flipping out and engaging in some, shall we say, shady activities. He went to court toayday over the ridiculous, false restraining order she took out, and we WON!
This victory is huge, because not only did she admit major things in court, the lawyer he had said "It doesn't matter that you're innocent and she's completely not, she played the right card, and you're screwed. You'll never step foot in that house again." Some fight that dude had in him! Determined not to give up, we prayed over the phone book, and found a new lawyer. She turned out to be a Christian, and she was fantastic.
This morning, I prayed and prayed, and sang praise songs, and waited to hear what happened. Then I thought, I need to read some Psalms, just say some of the praises in them out loud. I opened to Psalms, and happened to fall on 27. As I approached the end of the chapter, I got chills. This is what it said:
12 Do not turn me over to the desire of my foes,
for false witnesses rise up against me,
breathing out violence.
13 I am still confident of this:
I will see the goodness of the LORD
in the land of the living.
14 Wait for the LORD;
be strong and take heart
and wait for the LORD
I couldn't have imagined verses more perfect. Verse 12 hits 3 points of the situation: her desire, her lying, and her "breathing out violence" - in this case, lying and saying he was violent to her. Verse 13 brings hope that we'll see his goodness in this life, and verse 14 says to wait - something we had to do, as we had a continuance from the first court date and had to wait 10 more days. As I said before, God is awesome.
